Week 14 Challenge - Traditional HANGI

Our whole team “No More Pies” decided on the Hangi as our traditional food choice for this challenge, the main reasons are as follows:

 

  1. Hangi still plays a vital role as one of the most favoured dish for  major events or whanau functions

  2. It can be a simple yet flavoursome dish for everyone to share

  3. A hangi can be made nutritional and healthy by removing the fat from meat, reducing the amount of butter in the stuffing or using an alternate ingredient

  4. You can make the hangi packs smaller in size, they don’t always have to be large pack
